The first incident reported from Nizwa where Muhammed Naufal, who worked as a salesman at a car spare parts shop, was crushed to death by a vehicle.
"In Nizwa, Muhammed Naufal, a 22-year-old worker from the south Indian state of Kerala, died after being hit by a vehicle while crossing the road. He died on the spot," sources in Nizwa were quoted as saying by the Times of Oman.
Naufal had come to Oman just two weeks ago.
"His body is kept in police mortuary. His brother, who is working in Muscat and others are processing the papers to repatriate his body," the report said yesterday.
Abbas, who belonged to Maharashtra, was travelling in the truck. The accident happened near Hajeef area. The driver of the truck was also injured.
"The police had to try very hard to extract the victims from the mangled remains of the truck," the paper said.
