Two juvenile have been apprehended for allegedly murdering a Nepali citizen after he resisted their robbery bid in South Delhi's Tughlakabad area, police said here today.
On October 17, police had received a PCR call regarding stabbing of a man near Mehrauli Badarpur (MB) road.
"By the time police reached the spot, passers-by had rushed the victim identified as Ramesh Bahadur, a Nepalese citizen, to a Saket city hospital where he was declared brought dead," DCP (South) Prem Nath said.
Police conducted an intensive search for the culprits and made enquiries from a large number of suspects and passers-by to extract information, as there was no eye-witness, Nath added.
The investigating team spotted four suspicious persons, idling in an isolated park yesterday, and on seeing police, they tried to flee but two of them were apprehended by the team members, police said.
During interrogation, both the juvenile confessed to have murdered a Nepali person under the footover bridge at MB Road.
They said that they had stopped the deceased under the footover bridge and one of them held him from the back, while others tried to rob his mobile phone.
When the victim resisted, attacked him which caused multiple stab injuries and fled away with his mobile and cash, they added.
The duo have revealed the names of other two juveniles, who are still absconding. Police have recovered two knives from their possession and search was on for absconding minors.
