Robert Durst - whose strange life was chronicled in "The Jinx" - will be extradited from New Orleans to Los Angeles to face a murder allegation.
A motion filed in LA County Superior Court confirmed that Durst will be moved to California before August 18, 2016 to answer a charge that he murdered his friend Susan Berman.
Berman's 2000 death was long considered a cold case, until new evidence presented in The Jinx seemingly implicated New York real estate heir Robert Durst.
The series, directed by Andrew Jarecki, documented the 1982 disappearance of Durst's wife Kathie, the 2000 killing of his long-time friend Berman and the 2001 death of his neighbour Morris Black in Texas, for which Durst was tried and acquitted on the grounds of self-defence.
Miss Colombia on that whole Miss Universe screw-up Public interest in the series reached a peak just as Durst was picked up in New Orleans at the behest of Los Angeles police investigating Berman's unsolved death.
Durst has since been formally charged with the murder of author Susan Berman and also faces a federal weapons charge in New Orleans.
In spite of evidence presented in the HBO series, Durst has long maintained his innocence in both the disappearance of his first wife and Berman's murder.
HBO is reportedly working on a second season of The Jinx to chronicle Durst's arrest and potential trial in Los Angeles.
