Robin Thicke getting marital advice from dad

Singer Robin Thicke's twice-divorced father is giving him advice on winning back wife, Paula Patton.
'Growing Pains' actor Alan Thicke is helping coach his 'Blurred Lines' singer son in how to win Patton back following their separation last month after eight years of marriage, reported Contactmusic.
"Robin's convinced that his smooth-talking dad - despite his own chequered romantic history - could help him win back his wife," a source said.
Alan is said to have a close bond with Paula, who has three-year-old son Julian with Robin, and has been trying to talk her around.
"Paula adores Alan and he adores her. He admitted he made a mess of his own love life and caused pain for his family with divorces. But he told Paula he believes she and Robin have the strength to get through this and save their union," the source added.

Alan was previously married to Robin's mother, Gloria Loring, in 1970 but they divorced when their son was nine. He the went on to marry Gina Tolleson and they had a son together, Carter, but they split in 1999.
