The final of the box cricket tournament hosted by Reliance Foundation and Mumbai Indians was played here today in which India and Mumbai Indians players Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya and Jasprit Bumrah took part.
The 16-team box cricket tournament saw the participation of 8 NGOs. Cheered by 1,000 underprivileged children, Rohit, Hardik, Jasprit Bumrah and bowling mentor and Sri Lankan pacer Lasith Malinga took turns to bat and bowl for the two finalist teams Aseema and Shishu Vikas, while coach Mahela Jayawardene wore the umpire hat at the Wankhede Stadium, MI said in a release.
MI has been supporting education for under privileged children through the Education for Education For All (EFA) initiative since 2010, the release added.
MI owner Nita Ambani was also present on the occasion.
