The pair will star in Diesel Schwarze's period film, which will be set in the 1920s, centring around a hunchback (DeHaan) who falls for the fiancee (Mara) of a powerful media mogul, reported Deadline.
'Ziggy' charts his rise to the spotlight and subsequent fall from grace.
Baz Luhrmann protege Schwarze is working with Mara, DeHaan and music producer Alex Da Kid on the contemporary music score and soundtrack.
Mara will also appear in the upcoming 'Trash', an untitled Terrence Malick project, Todd Haynes's 'Carol' and Joe Wright's 'Pan'.
'Ziggy' is yet to get a release date.
