Rs 1.5 lakh worth gold and silver articles burgled from temple

Gold ornaments and silver articles worth Rs 1.5 lakh were found missing from the Kamatchiyamman Temple in Sethumadai near Anamalai in the district today, police said.
The priest, who came to perform the morning poojas, noticed the door of the sanctum sanctorum broken open and the gold "thali" (mangalasutra) on the idol of Goddess and silver articles for performing pooja missing, they said.
