Rs 1 crore cash recovered from car, 2 arrested

Police today seized Rs one crore cash from two persons, who were travelling in a car near Sherpur Chowk here, after the duo failed to give reasons for carrying the huge amount.
Pankaj Goyal and Ravi Kant, hailing from Uttar Pradesh, were coming from Ambala side. Their vehicle was intercepted by a police party and during search two boxes containing Rs one crore in cash were seized, Deputy Commissioner of Ludhiana Dhruman Nimbley said.
According to police, the accused failed to give satisfactory answers.
We suspect it is hawala money and supposed to be delivered here, police said, adding, a probe into the matter is on.
