Two BE students of the university have bagged an annual package of Rs 18.6 lakh per annum, the highest for this session, from DE Shaw India Software, Thapar university said in a statement issued here.
Microsoft India Development Centre (IDC) has offered an annual package of Rs 18 lakh to another two students, followed by e-commerce portals Snapdeal and Myntra, which picked up six students at an annual package of Rs 15.25 lakh and Rs 15 lakh, respectively, it said.
A total of 796 students of Thapar university have been hired by 125 reputed organisations during the campus placement drive, it said.
IT giant Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) picked up the maximum number of students at 100, followed by Accenture Services hiring 94 and IBM 36.
Significantly, during last year's placement drive, 12 students of Thapar university were hired by Japanese IT firm Hikari Tsushin for its Tokyo office with the highest package of Rs 23 lakh each.
