A release from the JIPMER, which is celebrating for the first time annual research day for two days from today, said the funding was made through the JIPMER intramural research grant mechanism.
The release said that the faculty had also obtained extramural research funding to the tune of Rs 4.14 crore from such reputed agencies like the ICMR, Department of Bio Technology and Department of Science and Technology last year.
"In terms of quality research output, JIPMER is one of the leading institutions at the national level ranked next only to premier institutions such as AIIMS New Delhi and the PG Institute of Medical Education and Research Chandigarh," the release said.
Eminent researchers from different parts of the country would share their experience about exploring opportunities and challenges to excellence in medical research in the Indian contest during the research day celebrations.
