Gold biscuits valued at about Rs 20 lakh were seized from a passenger who arrived here from Sharjah by an Air Arabia flight at the airport here today by Customs officials, police said.
The officials searched the baggage of one Abdul Salam, hailing from Kasargod in Kerala, and grew suspicious over the unusual weight of an emergency lamp. On examination they recovered eight gold biscuits kept in the slot meant for battery.
The gold biscuits weighed about 935 grams, police said.
Salam has been handed over to police.
