Police intercepted a Scorpio on busy Bailey road. The three persons in the vehicle said the cash belonged to a security agency but could not furnish relevant papers following which they were arrested, SSP Manu Maharaj told PTI.
Meanwhile, IT department of Bihar and Jharkhand, which has launched a crackdown on black money and unaccounted cash in current Parliamentary elections, has started a probe in the matter.
The IT department, so far, has seized over Rs 90 lakh unaccounted cash in Bihar and Rs 24 lakh in Ranchi.
