The biennial elections for 57 seats in the Upper House from 15 states are due to be held on June 11. The last date for withdrawal is June 3.
Prominent among the six candidates in the fray for as many vacancies in Rajya Sabha from Maharashtra are Union Power Minister Piyush Goyal and senior Congress leader and former Finance Minister P Chidambaram.
Both Goyal and Chidambaram are set to be elected to Rajya Sabha as the deadline for filing nominations ended yesterday.
According to the Vidhan Bhawan official, the formal announcement on their election will be made on June 3.
Chidambaram had filed his nomination papers yesterday at the Vidhan Bhawan. He did not contest the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, while his son Karti had unsuccessfully fought from his native Sivaganga constituency in Tamil Nadu.
