RSP's HSM posts record monthly production & dispatch in Oct

The Hot Strip Mill of the Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) recorded its highest ever monthly production and dispatches in October 2018.

The Mill achieved the feat by producing 1,69,461 tonnes of HR Coils and dispatching 1,03,025 tonnes of HR Coils in the month, the RSP said in a statement Friday.

The previous best monthly production record was of 1,67,177 tonnes of HR Coil in March this year, while the previous record of dispatch of 1,01,184 tonnes of HR Coils was set in August 2017, it said.

The excellent performance could be achieved because of the best utilisation of the available resources, improved rolling rate, better mill utilisation, lesser numbers of breakdowns and cobble generation and better availability of the equipment, it said.

The record volume of dispatch could be achieved due to good wagon availability in the last week of the month, it added.
