RSP's Sinter Plant-III posts highest single-day production

Rourkela Steel Plant's (RSP) Sinter Plant III recorded the highest sinter production on a single day by making 11849 tonne.
The production of 11849 tonne of sinter was achieved on December 10 as against the rated capacity of 11232 tonne per day, RSP said in a statement.
The previous production record for any single day was of 11750 tonne recorded on December 1, 2017.
Besides, by producing 3985 tonne of sinter in the C shift of the same day on December 10, the unit also registered best ever production figures for any shift.
This outstanding production performance led to a record specific productivity per day of 1.37 tonne per metre square per hour, it said.

Subhendra Das, ED (Works) congratulated the collective on this accomplishment and said that sinter plays an important role in determining the quality of hot metal and steel. At this juncture when RSP is going through a crucial phase and is on the threshold of a takeoff, the achievement carries great significance, he said.
