The Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) would take out a protest march to Parliament on November 17 to mount pressure on the Centre "to change its perception and approach" towards labourers, it said today.
Activists from across the country would take part in the march, Virjesh Upadhyay, the general secretary of the RSS- affiliated trade union, said.
"The purpose of this massive protest is to mount pressure on the Centre to change its perception and approach towards labourers," he added.
Doing away with the practice of contract labour in all forms, pension and other social security benefits, including medical facilities, for the contract labourers were some of their demands, Upadhyay said.
"The Centre should stop curtailing the workers' rights in the name of labour law reforms and give representation to the labourers and farmers in NITI Aayog," he added.
