RSS functionary attacked

A 35-year-old local functionary of the RSS was injured when unidentified men allegedly attacked him with deadly weapons here today, police said.
S Rajkumar, local secretary of the RSS in Triplicane here, was attacked when he was travelling on a bike.
Anna Salai Police Sub Inspector Jebamani told PTI that they suspected the attack to be a fallout of a recent incident when a woman was allegedly harassed by some men.
"In that incident, Hindu outfit functionaries, including Rajkumar, demanded action and wanted arrest of certain persons for harassing the woman," he said.
Also, another person, son of the woman who was allegedly harassed was also attacked recently.

"The victim himself could not identify the assailants. We are probing," the SI said.
The victim was rushed to a local government hospital and later shifted to the Government Rajiv Gandhi General Hospital.
