He was in the city to attend the four day RSS event which started yesterday.
Kataria, who said that he was attending the meeting in his personal capacity, described RSS as a family where review of work takes place every year.
"We are working in different fields and have assembled here to discuss and review. This (RSS) is our family and we meet one or two times in an year. Our work is reviewed in this way)," Kataria said.
The home minister said that the work and plans of various front organisations of RSS was being reviewed and "we all participated as swayam sevak in the programme.
