RSS today said it will make all outefforts to make the people vote in "big numbers" in Lok Sabha polls, which will be a high-stake battle for BJP.
Manmohan Vaidya, the Akhil Bharatiya Prachar Pramukh of RSS, reiterated Sangh Chief Mohan Bhagwat's call for voters to come out and exercises their franchise in big numbers.
"In his Vijay Dashmi speech, Sangh Chief Mohan Bhagwatji had given a clarion call to voters to exercise their franchise in big numbers to strengthen the democratic system in the country," he told reporters ahead of RSS' top policy making body Akhil Bharateeya Pratinidhi Sabha (ABPS) three-day meeting beginning here from March 7.
The Sangh members will make all efforts to make people go out and vote in big numbers, Vaidya said adding, it was decided before the announcement of dates of Lok Sabha polls and work in this regard is already on.
Vaidya said BJP President Rajnath Singh and party National General Secretary Ramlal will attend the meeting.
"Rajnathji is busy with Lok Sabha elections, however, he
is attending the meet on March 8," he said
He said the ABPS would review its activities and discuss
important national issues. "I will also chalk our programmes for the next year".
The meeting will be chaired by Bhagwat and Sangh General Secretary Suresh Bhaiyyaji, in which representatives elected from different Shakhas all over the country, state-level office-bearers and national functionaries of Sangh affiliated organisations would take part, Vaidya said.
Prominent leaders from Vishwa Hindu Parishad, ABVP, Bharateeya Kisan Sangh, Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram and Bharateeya Mazdoor Sangh would also attend the meeting, besides those from Rashtra Sevika Samithi and Swadeshi Jagran Manch and other outfits, Vaidya said.
