District Magistrate Vimal Kumar Sharma flagged-off two buses under 'Lohia Gramin Bus Sewa' from here which will ply on Loni and Modinagar routes.
The fare of these buses will be 20 per cent less in comparison to ordinary buses, UP Roadways Additional Regional Manager A K Shrotriya said.
The main objective of these buses is to connect the villages with cities.
To provide vacant space to the farmers for carrying their agricultural produce such as milk and vegetables to city markets, the UP Roadways has reduced the number of seats in such buses from 54 to 40, he said.
In the night hours these buses will be stationed at the last stoppage-point of the route so that farmers can load their agricultural produce in these buses to ferry them to city markets, he said.
