Six out of 10 most expensive yachts are owned Middle Eastern billionaires, while a Russian super rich owns the world's costliest vessel, says a report.
Of the top 10 most expensive yachts, three vessels are owned by Russian billionaires while only one belonged to an American.
No Indian billionaire's yacht made it to the list of top ten most expensive super yachts in the world.
Russian Tycoon Abramovich's 'Eclipse' valued at USD 1 billion topped the list of most expensive yachts in the world, global wealth intelligence and prospecting company Wealth-X said in a report.
"The 536-foot-long yacht was launched in 2010-and until last year had the distinction of being the world's longest super yacht," Wealth-X said.
It was eclipsed in size by Azzam, the 590-foot-long yacht owned by Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed al-Nayan, president of the United Arab Emirates and the ruler of Abu Dhabi.
'Azzam' is the second most expensive yacht in the list with a price tag of USD 600 million.
Third on the list is 'Topaz' the 482-foot-long yacht valued at USD 520 million and owned by Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who is another member of the Abu Dhabi royal family.
Only one American billionaire's yacht made the list: entertainment industry tycoon David Geffen's 'Pelorus', which is valued at USD 300 million.
Among others Russian billionaire Andrey Melnichenko's vessel 'A' worth USD 390 million was placed in the fourth place, followed by Yuri Scheer's vessel 'Serene' worth USD 330 million in the fifth place.
