Acting on a tip-off, a check post was set up on Indo-Nepal Border at Sonauli area here and Volpino De Niro (30) was apprehended last night, Sashstra Seema Bal (SSB) Deputy Commandant Dilep Kumar Jha said.
He said 1.9 kg charas worth Rs 20 lakh was recovered from his possession.
During interrogation, the accused confessed to selling contraband to local youths and admitted that he was the main supplier of drugs in the area, Jha said.
SSB guards the 1,751 km India-Nepal touching five states, including Uttar Pradesh.
