Sabour records lowest minimum temperature at 6 deg Celsius

Sabour in Bhagalpur district in Bihar today recorded the lowest minimum temperature at 6 degrees Celsius, the MeT office said today.
Cold day condition is declared when the minimum temperature touches 10 degrees Celsius or lower and the maximum temperature is 4.5 to 6.4 degrees Celsius below its normal, a met official said.
Severe cold day condition is declared when the minimum temperature touches 10 degrees Celsius or lower and the maximum temperature is 6.5 degrees Celsius below the normal maximum, he said.
As per the MeT bulletin, among the major cities Gaya and Purnea recorded the lowest minimum temperature at 6.5 degrees Celsius each while Patna recorded 8.1 degrees Celsius and Bhagalpur 9 degrees Celsius.
Gaya also recorded the state's highest maximum temperature at 27.0 degrees Celsius, the bulletin said.
The state capital, which witnessed bright sunshine since morning today, recorded the maximum temperature of 24 degrees Celsius while Bhagalpur and Purnea registered 23 and 21.6 degrees Celsius, it said.
In its forecast, the Met department said that Patna is expected to witness fog or mist in the morning followed by mainly clear sky later tomorrow.
Purnea and Bhagalpur are likely to witness fog and shallow fog respectively tomorrow followed by mainly clear skies, it said adding that Gaya may have clear sky tomorrow.
