Registrar Sougata Chatterjee told PTI today that the the HRD ministry had sent a letter yesterday stating that Sen be asked to continue as the officiating VC till a full-time VC was named by the Centre.
Sen's term as the director of Studies Educational Innovations and Rural Reconstruction of Visva-Bharati had expired on February 24.
When asked whether she had received the news of the HRD ministry letter, Sen told PTI, "Yes, I have heard about it."
The Central university has been functioning without a full-time VC for the last two years after the then VC Sushanta Dattagupta was dismissed from the varsity in February 2016.
