BJP today claimed that Narendra Modi's upcoming 'Fateh rally' will be the biggest-ever political gathering in the history of Punjab and said the party's prime ministerial nominee has pan-India acceptance and attraction.
Modi is scheduled to address the 'Fateh Rally' in Jagraon city of Ludhiana district on December 21.
"To ensure its roaring success both alliance partners are leaving no stone unturned, with top leaders of both BJP and SAD meeting at Chandigarh on December 12 to discuss and review the ongoing preparations," Punjab BJP President Kamal Sharma said today.
Accompanied by Punjab Chief Parliamentary Secretary Local Bodies Som Parkash Kainth, Sharma said all state office bearers of both the parties, district presidents, MLAs, SGPC members will be among those attending December 12 meeting.
"I have already met Deputy CM Sukhbir Singh Badal yesterday about it," he said.
"The three-member panel comprising Tikshan Sood, Som Parkash and Daljeet Singh Cheema will visit the rally venue tomorrow to take stock of the preparations," said Sharma.
The state BJP chief had come here to address party workers as part of his state-wide program to cover all 33 party districts by December 15 to personally mobilize party-men for the rally.
Dismissing any fears on security front, Sharma asserted that he was fully confident that the state government and its police force will ensure foolproof security system at rally.
He blamed security lapses for serial bomb blasts in Bihar before Modi's rally there a few weeks ago.
"Punjab police has up-to-date training in tackling anti-national elements and will ensure foolproof security arrangement in the rally and I have full faith in it," he said.
