Sagayam panel conducts probe for 2nd day

People from Melur where large-scale illegal mining, leading to revenue loss to the tune of several crores of rupees was reported, today queued up before the U.Sagayam Inquiry Committee to vent their grievances.
The Committee recorded the statements of the people and also received their petitions.
The Sagayam Committee was appointed by the Madras High Court to probe the illegal granite mining scam estimated to have cost the exchequer Rs 16,000 crore loss.
