'Chashme Buddoor', a 1981 romantic comedy-buddy film, starred Farooq Shaikh, Deepti Naval, Rakesh Bedi, Ravi Baswani and Saeed Jaffrey.
It was reported recently that Paranjpye was not happy with Dhawan making a remake. Her relations with friend Jayashree Makhija, who sold the remake rights, soured over the issue.
"I have not spoken to Sai but I think she is worried. I don't think she has any objections," Sheikh said here, at the promotion of soon-to-be-released digitally restored version of the original.
The restored original and the remake would clash at the box office as both are releasing on April 5. "I think the USP would be the time of 80s that we are bringing back through our film. The value of the 80s will be there," Sheikh said.
"While we were making the original we were sure it will be a good film. But we did not think it will be successful," he said.
