The complaint was filed by a law student, Abhishek Bhargava (23) before the Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC), Dilip Gupta.
"The court has posted the matter to August 20," said Abhishek's counsel Sanskar Bhargava.
"The statement of Shankracharya against the Sai Baba has deeply hurt the feelings of a large number of his devotees," the complaint alleged.
The plaint is filed under sections 295 A (deliberately hurting religious sentiments) and 298 (statement given with an intention to hurt religious feelings) of the Indian Penal Code and has sought trying of the seer before the court.
