Senior Congress leader Mohammad Saleem today demanded from Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take stern action against culprits of the double murder and rape in Haryana's Dingarheri village.
Saleem, in a letter to the Prime Minister, demanded that strict action should be taken against those who have been arrested in connection with the heinous crime, a statement issued by the AICC member said.
Four youth have been arrested in connection with the murder of a couple and sexual assault of two girls in a village in Mewat district after barging into the family's house and looting valuables.
Five armed men had barged into a house in village Dingerheri in Mewat on the night of August 24 and allegedly beaten the couple to death, and gang-raped their two nieces. One of the rape victims is a minor. They had also fled with valuables including cash, jewellery and a vehicle.
An SIT was formed on August 25 to nab the accused.
