Salesgirl prevents robbery at shop by bluffing robbers

Showing presence of mind, a salesgirl prevented a robbery at a jewellery shop in south Delhi's Mahipalpur area by bluffing armed dacoits.
Five armed men, three of whom carried pistols, entered the jewellery showroom of one Hari Om on Friday afternoon and holding him hostage at gunpoint asked the employees to handover all the jewellery, police said.
The robbers collected the jewellery and when they were about to flee, the salesgirl, Shilpi told them that she had quietly made a call to the police which was on the way.
Hearing this, the robbers panicked and fled in a hurry leaving the jewellery behind before injuring the owner of the shop with a sharp object, said a police official.

Although she had not actually made a call, she just tried to play a trick which worked, he said.
Police said the entire incident has been captured by the CCTV cameras installed in the showroom.
Efforts are on to nab the robbers, police said.
