Salesman arrested in drugging-cum-theft case in GK

A 24-year-old salesman and florist who had allegedly drugged his employer and committed theft at the shop in Greater Kailash here has been arrested, police said today.
Danish Robert, a resident of Badarpur here, was arrested by the special staff of South east district of Delhi Police and the case of drugging-cum-shop theft which was committed on September 24 last year has been solved, a senior official said.
Victim Jayant Mittal owns business of imported artificial flowers at M-2, Greater Kailash Part-II here and he used to organise exhibitions of these flowers at different places.
On the night of September 24, 2014, Mittal's nephew found him lying unconscious in his shop while his servant Danish alias John was missing.

On verification, it was revealed that two gold, one silver and one diamond ring, one laptop, mobile phones and Rs 2100 cash were missing from the shop and when Mittal regained consciousness, he told that he had asked Danish to bring 'kachori-sabzi' from a nearby shop and after eating it, he became unconscious.
A case was lodged at CR Park police station and probe was taken up.

On January 17, 2015, police received an information that accused Danish would be coming in CR Park area to dispose off the stolen articles and a trap was laid and he was arrested along with some of the stolen booty.

Danish told the police that his son was suffering from tumour in backbone and he had sought help from his employer but Gupta had refused. Thereafter, he planned to commit theft in Gupta's shop and made him unconscious by giving a drug-laced dish.
When Mittal got unconscious, he stole valuables and cash from the office and fled away, he told police, adding that he had disposed off some of the stolen articles.
