During an interview with DuJour magazine, the 50-year-old actress says, "Sometimes with age, you get better characters. I love to play the mother, and I'll be excited to play the grandmother.
"How boring to play that (sexy) part for the rest of my life. I think I'd shoot myself."
Hayek says she prefers to pick movies that fit around her family as her husband and daughter are her top priorities.
"A lot of the time I choose the movies I do by convenience. I just take it one day at a time, I don't do strategy.
I've never been away from my daughter for more than two weeks. Sometimes I do a movie (just) because I like the people," she says.
