Simmons and Keaton recently quit the project as male leads due to scheduling, reported Deadline.
Jackson, 66, is reportedly in early talks to take the role that is left vacant by the Oscar-winner and Reilly is at the top of a list of actors being considered to replace Keaton.
Tom Wilkinson has been offered another lead role in the movie.
If the casting is finalised, Jackson, Reilly and Wilkinson will join Tom Hiddleston and Brie Larson as well as the newly-added actor Corey Hawkins.
