A three-and-half feet long sand
boa, lying in the middle of a road here, was rescued by a voluntary organisation and handed over to the forest department today.
One Ramesh, who was going to office noticed the snake lying on the road and alerted the 'Save our Snakes,' an NGO.
A rescuer from the organisation rushed to the area and retrieved the snake and handed over it to the forest department, officials said.
According to forest department sources, the boa was fatigued and was unable to cross the road.
The department will keep the sand boa on its premises, they said.
