"We have to see that the Meghalaya Lokayukta Act, 2013 is effective enough on the lines of the Lokpal and Lokayuktas Bill, 2013," the Chief Minister told reporters after a cabinet meet.
He said necessary exercises would be undertaken to see whether additional amendments are required to be incorporated into the existing Act.
The Chief Minister also said the government would be working towards the finalisation of the Social Auditing bill, which would facilitate scrutiny of various works undertaken by government departments.
On the National Food Security Act, the Chief Minister said the list of beneficiaries is under the process of preparation as per data available in the socio-economic census.
As part of the government initiatives to improve food security, Mukul also said his government was working on a plan to offer nutritional security to the people.
