The decision was taken yesterday by leaders of sanitation workers' union after a meeting with the administration, Municipal Corporation Board and police officials.
"In the meeting, it was decided that a proposal for providing the workers a monthly salary of Rs 8,500 would be sent to the administration after approval from the Municipal Board within a week," Municipal Commissioner S K Dubey said.
He said that those workers who were expelled from duty during the strike would be reinstated and their monthly salary would be disbursed.
The sanitation workers have been on strike since April 16 to push their demand for an increase in wages to Rs 14,490.
