Sarangi player Ram Narayan to get Maha lifetime achievement

Noted sarangi player Pandit Ram Narayan has been selected for the lifetime achievement award, instituted by Maharashtra government in memory of Bharat Ratna Pandit Bhimsen Joshi, for year 2015-16.
The Department of Culture has instituted this award which includes Rs 5 lakh in cash, a citation and a memento.
The announcement was made by Cultural Affairs Minister Vinod Tawde here today.
