Renowned missile scientist G Satheesh Reddy took over as the Chairman of the Defence Research Development Organisation (DRDO), an official statement said.
He will also serve as the Secretary, Department of Defence Research and Development.
Reddy is known for his significant contributions towards indigenous design, development, deployment of diversified Missiles and Strategic Systems, Guided Weapons, Avionics Technologies.
He has contributed towards advancement of aerospace technologies and industries in the country.
Prior to his current appointment, Reddy was the scientific advisor to the defence minister.
