"For approval of District annual plans and their implementation in right earnest for economic development and welfare of the State, the Chief Minister has nominated heads of District Development Boards of 20 districts," an official spokesman said.
The heads for development boards for Leh and Kargil were not named as these districts have elected Autonomous Hill Development Councils discharging these functions.
The Chief Minister will be the chairman for Srinagar District Development Board while his Deputy Nirmal Singh will be the chairman of Jammu and Samba Districts Development Boards.
Minister for Transport Abdul Gani Kohli has been named Chairman of Shopian District Development Board, Minister for PHE Sukhnandan Kumar as Chairman of Baramulla District Development Board, Minister for Youth Services and Sports and IT, Imran Raza Ansari as Chairman of Bandipora District Development Board and Minister for CAPD Zulfkar Choudhary as Chairman of Kupwara District Development Board.
