Conditions were clear at most places across Uttarakhand today even as moderate to rather heavy rainfall lashed some parts of the state in the past 24 hours, weather officials said.
Thus, Nainital received 70mm rainfall while the skies were clear above state capital Dehradun, which was lashed by heavy showers over the last couple of days.
Elsewhere, Haldwani received 39mm rainfall followed by Badkot (30mm) and Purola (25mm) in Uttarkashi district, according to the Disaster Management and Mitigation Centre (DMMC).
Predicting similar conditions for the next couple of days, MeT officials said light to moderate rainfall was expected at most places in the state over the coming 12 to 24 hours.
Some places in the Dehradun, Nainital, Uttarkashi and Pauri districts are likely to be hit by moderate to heavy rainfall, they added.
DMMC said no weather-related incidents were reported from anywhere in the state although several roads remained closed due to debris from recent landslides still lying on them.
The Badrinath highway remained closed near Narayanbagad for yet another day, affecting supplies to many places in Chamoli district, including to Joshimath and Gopeshwar.
NH 109 in Rudraprayag district continues to be closed at Semi with repair work hampered by intermittent rains, an official said.
However, Border Roads Organisation personnel are busy trying to remove debris from the major roads despite the vagaries of weather, he added.
