Schneider Electric working on 200-plus smart city projects

French electrical equipment maker Schneider Electric is working on over 200 smart city projects across various countries.
"It is displaying experience gleaned from 200-plus projects it is presently working on in cities across the world, covering settings as diverse as water management, enhancing the efficiency of cities or progress in optimising energy use," Schneider Electric said in a statement.
"A key to making smart cities a reality is to integrate several systems into a cohesive framework that allows collaborative data sharing and real-time information management," it said.

TMB obtains ISO certification from BSI
* City-based Tamilnad Mercantile Bank has obtained ISO certification from British Standards Institution, an internationally accredited certification body, a top bank official said.
The certification, a distinction achieved by only a few banks in the country, is an endorsement of the Bank's commitment to protect and safeguard its information assets in order to ensure secure banking operations for its customers, H S Upendra Kamath, Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer said in a press release today.
The international standard envisages establishing, implementing, maintaining and improving Information Security controls at the Bank to preserve confidentiality, integrity and availability of information, it said.

HZL to construct bio-toilets in 152 schools in Rajasthan * Pledging support to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Clean India' campaign, Hindustan Zinc (HZL) today said it will construct bio-toilets in 152 schools of Rajasthan at a cost of Rs 4 crore.
"On the occasion of World Toilet Day, HZL has decided to construct bio-toilets in 152 schools in Rajasthan. Separate toilets for girls will also be constructed in co-education schools. The project will cost Rs 4 crore to the company," said a company spokesperson.
HZL has already signed two agreements with the Rajasthan government. The first one is for construction of 30,000 toilets, out of which it has already constructed 10,000 toilets.
