The judge told reporters that 55 witnesses had so far been examined and that the enquiry may go for two consecutive days if the prosecution and defence lawyers cooperate.
He said that besides parents and the injured children, education department officials,school administration officials and doctors who treated the kids also have to be examined and it would be done in due course.
Of the injured, only 14 petitions were received for compensation, he added.
The trial started on September 24, 2012 and concluded on July 17.
The Justice K Sampath Commission set up by the state government had held the school management responsible for the tragedy. Its report said the building did not have adequate exit facilities and firefighting capabilities.It said teachers had not been trained in disaster management.
