Scindia has narrow escape after dais collapses

Former Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia had a narrow escape today as the dais from which he was addressing a function after inaugurating a volleyball match collapsed suddenly causing serious injuries to local MLA Ramsingh Yadav.
The injured MLA was admitted to the district hospital here.
The former Union Minister was on a two-day-long tour of his constituency to take part in various programmes. While returning from Shivpuri to Guna, he inaugurated a volleyball tournament at Badarwas.
While he was addressing people from the dais, a large number of people climbed on it after which it collapsed due to which Scindia and others fell on the ground but fortunately did not suffer any injuries.

"The dais was weak because of which it collapsed. I did not suffer any injury and am on my way to Bhopal," Scindia told PTI.
However, Yadav suffered serious injuries on his chest after which Scindia escorted him upto his vehicle and left the venue only after the MLA was rushed to Shivpuri.
Later in the day, Scindia inaugurated a training centre building constructed at a cost of Rs 7 crore from his local area development fund.
