Reeling under scorching heat, the Kamrup Metro district administration in Assam today declared a two-day holiday for the schools.
In a statement, the deputy commissioner of Kamrup Metro said all the schools in the district will be closed on June 13-14 due to extreme heat condition.
The maximum temperature for today was 38.4 degree Celsius, while the minimum stood at 26.5 degree Celsius, according to the Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) here.
Today's relative humidity is 62 per cent, RMC sources said.
The ongoing heat has forced people to stay indoors.
