Scribe dead, Pathankot SSP injured in road mishap

A Jalandhar-based journalist of a a leading national daily was killed and an SSP seriously injured this afternoon when their vehicle was hit by a truck in Neelima village in Pathankot district, police said here.
41-year-old Jasdeep Malhotra was killed while Pathankot SSP Surinder Kalia was seriously injured, police said.
Kalia was admitted to a hospital at Pathankot, they said.
Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal has expressed grief over Malhotra's demise, an official statement released in Chandigarh said.
Malhotra was Principal Correspondent with Hindustan Times.
