SDMC opens two-day municipal fair for people

A two-day municipal fair was inaugurated by the SDMC here today, where citizens can seek redressal of their pending issues with the corporation.
The 'Jan Sampark Jan Kalyan Mela' of the BJP-led South Delhi Municipal Corporation was opened by MP Ramesh Bidhuri at Dakshin Puri area here.
Bidhuri said the corporation was reaching directly to the public by this Mela and described the activities and functions done by them for the welfare of society.
He also urged Municipal Commissioner Puneet Kumar Goyal to arrange two ambulances for the fair.
Commissioner Goyal said through this fair "citizens can redress their pending issues regarding the corporation here only".
He said, " We will continue this kind of endeavours in future also."
Delhi BJP Chief Satish Upadhayay said under 'Swatch Bharat Mission', the corporation waas doing lot of works and "we are continuing these works in future also to keep Delhi clean.
He also stressed on the need for speedy development works in the corporation. This year all the wards will get facilities of open gym, he added.
The day coincided with World Environment Day, so he also appealed to the citizens to plant at least one tree on the occasion.
Upadhyay, also former chairman of the Standing Committee said, in the coming two years "we will initiate new development project for citizens and there is no shortage of fund for work.
South Delhi Mayor Subhash Arya, Standing Committee Chairman Radhey Shayam Sharma and Leader of House Ashish Sood were also present on the occasion.
