SEC Railway collects Rs 34 lakh as fine in special drive

A fine of nearly Rs 34 lakh was collected from defaulters by the South East Central (SEC) Railway during a special ticket drive.
A drive was conducted with the help of Railway Police Force and a Magistrate under the supervision of Divisional Railway Manager, Alok Kansal by an Assistant Commercial Manager (ACM) between February 1 to 20, a release from Nagpur division of SEC Railway said today.
A total of 801 travellers without proper and valid tickets, excess luggage were caught and fine of Rs 33,97,915 was collected from them during the drive, it said.
The imposition of penalty and recovery was 15 percent higher than the previous such exercise, the release added.
