A dangerous secessionist whirlpool is being built within Jammu and Kashmir by the "leaders of the ruling alliance and the opposition," which can prove disastrous, alleged Panun Kashmir, an organisation of displaced Kashmiri Hindus.
Kashmir Valley is going from bad to worse as militancy related incidents in 2016 increased to 216 from 143 incidents in 2015. 81 security personnel were martyred and 150 militants killed, besides, nearly 60 youth joined the militancy and highest 2700 incidents of stone pelting took place, it said.
"With utmost responsibility we warn government of India, particularly the Prime Minister of India, about the dangerous secessionist whirlpool being built within the state," Convener of Panun Kashmir, Agnishekhar, told reporters here today.
Flanked by Ajay Chrungoo, Chairman of Panun Kashmir, Agnishekhar said "a fierce and a sinister secessionist competition is going on in the state between the leaders of the ruling alliance and the opposition".
He said the it will be "disastrous to ignore the dangerous trend of competitive secessionism" infecting the proceedings of the state Assembly.
"On the floor of the Assembly dreaded terrorist Burhan Wani was described as a martyr (by lawmaker of National Conference), National anthem was disrespected and recently none other than the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti described accessionof J&K state with India as merely "technical," he said.
The Panun Kashmir leader said it was unfortunate that PDP has chosen to disapprove the stated position of Centre vis-a- vis Pakistan and separatism in the state.
"It is advocating demilitarisation of the state, unconditional dialogue with Pakistan and the separatists, taking away of land used by the security forces, removal of AFPSA and return of hydroelectric projects run by NHPC in the state," he said.
Ajay Chrungoo hit out at activities of Yashwant Sinha on Kashmir and said "Panun Kashmir out rightly condemns the forays of the group led by Yashwant Sinha, the disgruntled and discredited leader of BJP".
Panun Kashmir rejects the report of this group.
Chairman of Panun Kashmir Ajay Chrungoo said, "We have no
hesitation in stating that back channel interventions have strengthened the separatist campaign... Discredited the state responses to Jihadi separatism in the state and acted as fuel to it".
As many as 66 weapons, including 17 AK rifles, and over 7,000 rounds of ammunition have been looted by militants and mobs in Valley after the killing of Hizb-ul Mujahideen terrorist Burhan Wani on July 8 last which had triggered unrest, he said.
Kashmir also saw the highest number of stone pelting incidents last year. Of the total 2,690 incidents of stone pelting, North Kashmir accounts for the highest with 1,248 incidents, followed by 875 in South Kashmir and 567 in Central Kashmir, Chrungoo claimed.
Sopore, the bastion of hardline Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani, has recorded nearly 500 incidents of stone pelting according to official data from the State Home Ministry, he said.
"Panun Kashmir has time and again warned that Kashmir is on the brink of becoming a Syria or Afghanistan. Radical Islamist stranglehold in Kashmir is growing with each day," he said.
"Political class in Kashmir is playing to its dictates. Militant forces have been using democratic order in the state as a safe sanctuary. Dithering and delay in standing up to Jihadi war in the state will soon make the state particularly Kashmir, a totally ungoverned territory and a heaven for Militant forces", he alleged.
Panun Kashmir also wants to state that there is nothing holy about 'Agenda of Alliance', a brazen "subversive declaration."
Ex-gratia to the kith and kin of seditionists is in fact a declaration of the fact that the heart of the present government lies on the other side, he added.
More than six million Hindus, Sikhs and Buddhists constitute almost half of the Jammu and Kashmir's population, and all of them are committed to fight and defeat separatism and Islamic fundamentalism come what may, he said.
"Creation of Panun Kashmir north and east of river Jhelum in Kashmir with the Union Territory status for the rehabilitation of all displaced Hindus is the only way to bring Kashmir out of the present crisis," he said.
