Second showcause notice to TMC leader Anubrata Mandal

A second show cause notice has been issued against TMC leader Anubrata Mandal for making derogatory remarks against opposition parties.
"Today the district officials of Burdwan has issued a showcause notice against Anubrata Mandal for his remarks in Mangolkote area a few days back. This is the second showcause notice issued against Anubrata. This is a suo muto showcause notice by district officials," said an EC official.
"We are yet to get a reply to the first showcause notice. Even Anisur Rehaman of CPI(M) has not given a reply to the showcause notice issued to him," he said.
The EC was also looking into complains against Trinamool Congress candidate from Krishnnagar Tapas Pal, for allegedly bringing in students at his workers meet.

Asked about a complaint filed by the Trinamool Congress' student union against Presidency University allowing a referendum by students seeking removal of Sugata Bose, TMC"s candidate from Jadavpore, from the chairmanship of the varsity's Mentor Group, the EC official said, "We have received a complaint and are looking into the matter.
