Security would be provided to passenger vehicles from tomorrow as the last bus to Ukhrul from Imphal would leave the state capital this afternoon at around 4.00 PM, the sources said.
Depending on the availability of security personnel, arrangements would be made for providing security to private vehicles at certain places, they said.
Kuki National Army (KNA), armed wing of Kuki National Organisation, has called for an indefinite road blockade between Imphal and Ukhrul district headquarters in protest against the "failure" of the NSCN-IM to return a pistol which was seized from KNA activists after 'overpowering' them at Mahadev Lamkhai area in Ukhrul district on June 8 last.
Ukhrul, bordering Myanmar, is dominated by Naga tribe although Kukis have also settled in the district.
